Inter-urban break is on the regional planning agenda

Preserving the inter-urban break straddling the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay council areas is on the agenda for tomorrow’s (August 7) South East Queensland Regional Planning Committee meeting chaired by the Deputy Premier, Jackie Trad.

Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson, who will be attending the Regional Planning Committee meeting, welcomed the Deputy Premier’s move to re-establish the Committee.

“I commend the Deputy Premier for bringing the Committee together to advise on the next South East Queensland Regional Plan and I am absolutely delighted that regional inter-urban breaks is on the agenda,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“Preserving and protecting our own inter-urban break is absolutely crucial to maintaining our identity and protecting some of our most important natural assets.

“Our inter-urban break also offers substantial tourism opportunities and makes a significant contribution in its own right to the economy.
