Blended Youth Culture, Art and Music Festival

Under 25s will be able to dance to live beats, skate with the best or just chill with their besties at the free National Youth Week event on Saturday, April 9 from 2 to 8pm at Coolum’s Tickle Park.

The Blended Youth Culture, Art and Music Festival, hosted by IFYS Ltd, is the culmination of months of work by a dedicated support group and sponsors including Sunshine Coast Council, Community Solutions, Cosy Program, Electrify, Headspace, Korsos Photography, Shake It Up Music, TAFE, Uniting Care Community, Human Services and Red Frogs.

Maddie Aldwell from IFYS said Youth Week was about celebrating young people who have accomplished a broad range of achievements and are contributing positively to the image of young people within our community.

“IFYS will be running the Blended Festival at the start of Youth Week 2016 to showcase the talents of young people across the full spectrum of the arts and music scene on the Coast,” she said.

“There is a full line-up of popular bands and solo performers on two stages and 91.9 Sea FM will be broadcasting live on the day.”

Council’s Community Services Director Coralie Nichols said National Youth Week was the largest celebration of young people in Australia.

“Thousands of young people aged 12-25 from across Australia get involved in National Youth Week activities and council is proud to support the Blended Youth Culture, Art and Music Festival on the Coast,” she said.
