Weathering the storm is a team effort
Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson has praised the efforts of the region’s disaster management personnel in assisting the Sunshine Coast community during the extreme weather event caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie.
“The events of the last 24 hours have had a considerable impact on families, communities and businesses across the Sunshine Coast, but our dedicated disaster management staff from agencies across the State Government and council have worked tirelessly to keep our residents informed and safe”, Mayor Jamieson said.
“We owe them a great debt of gratitude, particularly as many of these people have families and property themselves that may have been impacted by the weather events.
“From our council staff to the Police and Emergency Services to community representatives that have helped to keep critical information flowing, our well trained team of professionals are doing their utmost to support the needs and best interests of our community at this time.”
