Swim series creates another big tourism splash

Another wave of tourism will come ashore at Mooloolaba this weekend, only this time our visitors will be swimming.

Saturday’s World Swim Series race at Mooloolaba is set to bring around 3,500 people to the region and deliver yet another spring time economic boost.

Newport Apartments Manager Bernie Sullivan said the council-supported event was one of many providing significant benefits for local businesses.

“We’ve been absolutely flying even since the September School Holidays and events like the World Series Swim and the recent Ironman 70.3 are fantastic for bringing new clientele to the Sunshine Coast and giving local businesses and tourism operators a chance to show what we can offer,” he said.

“To also now be recognised as one of the most successful cruise ship ports as a result of the recent P&O visits shows that we’re doing plenty of things right here on the Sunshine Coast and council always a does a great job in bringing opportunities to town and sprucing the place up which is very much appreciated by all of the local businesses.”
