Major Caloundra project receives government grant
Caloundra’s Bulcock Street is set for a further makeover which will help activate the town centre and boost the local economy – and the project has been given a kick start with a $300,000 grant from the State Government.
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the third stage of the Bulcock Street upgrade would include a range of infrastructure improvements, with underground service work due to start before Christmas.
“This exciting upgrade will help us breathe new life into Caloundra’s CBD with a vibrant streetscape,” Cr Dwyer said.
“We’ll have a better looking Bulcock Street with advanced street tree planting, gardens, bespoke street furniture, shade elements and interactive feature lighting that we haven’t seen anywhere else on the Coast.
“There will also be major upgrades to underground services, new footpaths, and pedestrian priority crossings.
“The upright kerbs will be removed to create a road, parking and footpath area that is more suitable for the markets and other possible opportunities along Bulcock Street.
