Leading Australian company celebrates $30m expansion in Sunshine Coast Hinterland
After 30 years in business, local company BizFurn is celebrating the next chapter in its business success with the official opening of a new $30 million purpose-built facility and plans for 60 additional jobs at Yandina.
The new facility will be the manufacturing and distribution hub for BizFurn which specialises in the innovation, design and manufacture of commercial and education sector furniture throughout the east coast of Australia.
Mayor Mark Jamieson joined BizFurn founder and managing director Denis Moore for the official opening today.
Mayor Jamieson said the re-investment by a company the size of BizFurn was a great result for local employment opportunities in the hinterland and a sign for positive business confidence in the region.
BizFurn’s investment is estimated to contribute $47.3 million to the local economy annually.
“BizFurn is a wonderful contributor to our local business community and a company that has shown continued support and confidence in our region during their 30-year history, with this investment being their sixth purpose-built facility in the Yandina area,” Mayor Jamieson said.
“It’s also great to see jobs being created in our hinterland close to where people live, helping to drive better quality of life and other benefits through reduced commute times.
“It’s this business growth and investment that helps to support business confidence in our region, but particularly in our hinterland where innovative companies such as BizFurn are succeeding and taking on the best our nation has to offer.
