Mayor joins police to kick off Christmas Road Safety Campaign
Sunshine Coast motorists can expect extra police on the roads from today as the Christmas Road Safety Campaign moves into gear across the State in the lead up to the festive season.
Sunshine Coast District Officer Superintendent Darryl Johnson and Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson urged residents and visitors to the Coast to stay safe, be patient and show respect to everyone in the community in the Christmas and New Year period.
Mayor Jamieson said Christmas is a very special time of year and also one of our busiest on the Sunshine Coast as holidaymakers come to experience everything that our region has to offer.
“We want everyone to enjoy their Christmas break, have a great time with their family and friends and to support our local businesses which are at the heart of our economy,” Mayor Jamieson said.
