Police Remembrance Day – Unveiling of Painting

Unveiling of painting to honour all police specifically those who have suffered from PTSD and other mental illness
Mental illness impacts many people, non more do than our Police and Service Personnel
Today we unveiled a painting by Sarah Gossing, herself the wife of a policeman, in Cotton Tree Library honouring our QPS We heard from former officer John Dobbs suppprted by his wife Leanne, who commissioned the painting about the impact of policing and mental health on his and his families life.
John was brave and courageous as he shared his story and the important role played by his loving wife.
Not everyone has such support!
Thanks Inspector Jon Lewis, Superintendent Darryl Johnson and member for Buderim Brent Mickelberg.

Please remember tomorrow is Police Remembrance Day and if you have an opportunity over the coming days thank our Police men and women for the great job they do, protecting us!
