Roadshow to encourage new Coast investment

Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson will build on the region’s economic relationships with partners in Hong Kong and China, as well as explore opportunities in South Korea and attend BIO 2016 in San Francisco with Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, during a 12-day investment roadshow starting on Monday.

Mayor Jamieson said his visit to Asia followed on from previous missions in 2014 and 2015 and would encourage job creating investment on the Sunshine Coast.

“The Sunshine Coast offers a tremendous mix for investors and the opportunity to be involved at the ground level in some of the most exciting property, infrastructure and business developments in the country,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“Key components of this Sunshine Coast Investment Roadshow will be furthering the development of important relationships in Hong Kong and with parties in China who have already expressed an interest in aspects of the SunCentral Maroochydore Priority Development Area and in the Sunshine Coast Airport expansion project,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“We will also be developing stronger links with South Korea which earlier this week was visited by the Deputy Premier, Jackie Trad.

“There are trade and investment opportunities to explore that emanate from the new Australia-South Korea Free Trade Agreement.”
