Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion Completion of Sand Dredging

Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion Completion of Sand Dredging

A world first in airport construction at Marcoola, Sunshine Coast with the largest vinyl liner ever deployed for a reclamation project.
Over 1.3m cubic metres of sand has been pumped on the new International Runway.
Pipes will be dismantled this week and foreshore restoration completed in time for the turtle nesting season.
My thanks to Project Director Ross Ullman, JHG Project Manager Berry Freshney and the staff from John Holland Group and Dredging International who are doing a tremendous job to stay ahead of schedule.
