Sunshine Coast Council condemns acts of terrorism in Paris
The following can be attributed to Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson:
The Sunshine Coast Council first and foremost, extends on behalf of our community, our heartfelt condolences to the victims of the barbarous acts of terrorism that we saw take place in Paris on Friday evening, 13 November.
To the families who lost loved ones, we extend our deepest sympathies.
We cannot begin to imagine the horror and loss that you have experienced – but please know that you are uppermost in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
To the people of Paris and the French Republic, we send a very strong message of support and solidarity. Like all decent Australians, we stand with you in the struggle to recover from these horrendous incidents and re-establish a safe environment for your citizens.
The Sunshine Coast Council deplores all forms of violence, no matter how it manifests itself. These vicious and callous criminal acts on Friday evening have shattered many lives and caused fear across the world.
