Major Environmental Land Acquisition – Maroochy River Flood Plain

Major Environmental Land Acquisition!

In the company of Division 9 Councillor Steve Robinson we celebrated the acquisition of another 14h of environmentally sensitive land on the Maroochy River Flood Plain

It is part of our Blue Heart project and I thank SCC staff for their initiative in adding to our almost 7000h conservation estate

Well done!

Over the last 8 years I have had the pleasure of announcing multiple property acquisitions across the length and breath of our great region.

Our ratepayers can be very satisfied with the way our Council is spending your Environment Levy to secure strategic land parcels and create protected corridors for Fauna and Flora.

Our conservation estate, links to our nation leading ‘Land for Wildlife’ program and the State’s National Parks ensuring our regional ecosystems and sustainability

I also acknowledge the media in attendance who faithfully inform their viewers and listeners of all the good ‘environmental Initiatives’ of our Sunshine Coast Council.

Cheers
