SOD turning ceremony-Shakespeare/Novotel-$100M acquisition
Mr Yak Yong Quek, CEO/MD of Shakespeare Property Group reinforced his confidence in the Regional Economic Development Strategy of our Sunshine Coast Council and its impact on his decision to invest $100m securing Twin Waters Resort.

Congratulations!

Quek, who I met some months ago to outline our regional objectives also committed to another $18m upgrade of the resort including a new Convention Centre, to be opened in April, next year.

A fantastic outcome and very welcomed investment.

Accor VP Operations, Matt Young and State member for Mt. Omaney, Jess Pugh, representing the Tourism Minister joined us to turn the ‘first sod’ on the construction site.

I welcome the Shakespeare Group, who are significant investors in Qld Tourism and will play a strong hand in developing jobs, careers and our reputation as a great location for conventions and exhibitions.
